Stratus Chamber Orchestra will join forces with local musician Neyla Pekarek and her band during an immersive-seating performance of her recent albums, Rattlesnake (2019) and Western Woman (2023). These albums are based on the incredible true story of Rattlesnake Kate, a woman who in 1925 single-handedly killed 140 snakes that began to attack her and her young child while on a horseback ride.
You’ll be surrounded by 25+ musicians during a performance that interweaves music and history, blending genres to tell the story of this incredible woman. The performance will also feature dance by Life/Art Dance Ensemble and will be supported by the Greeley History Museum, Colorado’s experts on Rattlesnake Kate.
