A Western Woman

  • The Hangar at the Stanley Marketplace 2501 Dallas Street Aurora, CO, 80010 United States (map)

This concert will be a celebration of Colorado History and the incredible artists that now call it home.

Stratus Chamber Orchestra will join forces with local musician Neyla Pekarek (formerly of The Lumineers) and her Denver band during an immersive-seating performance. You’ll hear brand new arrangements of her recent albums, Rattlesnake (2019) and Western Woman (2023). These albums are based on the incredible true story of Rattlesnake Kate, a woman who in 1925 single-handedly killed 140 snakes that began to attack her and her young son while on a horseback ride in northern Colorado.

You’ll be surrounded by 30+ musicians during a performance that interweaves music and history, blending genres to tell the story of this incredible woman. The performance will also feature dance by Life/Art Dance Ensemble and will be supported by the Greeley History Museum, Colorado’s experts on Rattlesnake Kate.

There are concert-only and VIP+concert tickets available.

VIP Ticket Holders can join at 5:45PM, before the concert, for:

  • Activities and information to dive deeper into the fascinating story of Rattlesnake Kate.

  • Meet and greet with Neyla Pekarek, the Greeley History Museum, and other artists to learn more about the musicians she inspired.

  • Complimentary beer and wine.
